This workshop is for women ages 18 and older that struggle with anxiety and depression. The workshop will use yoga (postures, meditation, and breathing exercises) to help women develop improved mind-body integration and body awareness, to calm the nervous system, gain control over the relaxation response, and provide a tool box of stress reducing techniques. The workshop will introduce concepts from the emerging field of Nutritional Psychology which looks at how certain foods and nutrients are essential in improving mood.
Mind and body are so intricately connected that depression and anxiety can manifest as physical symptoms, likewise certain nutritional deficiencies can cause depression and anxiety. Body centered approaches such as yoga and nutritional psychology address these physiological/physical symptoms.
In addition to being a licensed psychotherapist, Juanita has been a Yoga instructor since 2013 and a Certified Health Coach since 2016.
