Meet Autumn Collier, LCSW
I am the owner of Collier Counseling, LLC and a therapist. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Georgia. I received my Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Georgia and then my Master of Social Work also from the University of Georgia.
My career started over 10 years ago in child protective services. I was able to work with families to ensure the safety of children while maintaining permanency in the home. Many of the families faced challenges such as mental health, substance abuse, and trauma.
After a couple of years in child protective services, I transitioned into community mental health at an agency where we provided counseling services to individuals and families in their community. I later became the Clinical Director at this agency and was responsible for supervising clinical staff and guiding the agency's clinical direction and treatment of clients.
In my private practice I provide counseling services to teenagers and young adults experiencing anxiety, depressed mood, and relationship issues. I use multiple treatment approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Solution Focused Therapy to name a few. I am Levels I and II trained in Gottman Method and use this treatment modality when working with couples.
My personal life motto is "why not" and I encourage and challenge my clients with this motto. I believe everyone should live their best life and thrive, not just exist. In addition to the clinical treatment approaches I use, I also use good old fashion listening, humor, and directness with compassion. The combination works!
I am a member of the National Association of Social Workers, Georgia Society for Clinical Social Work, and Metro Atlanta Therapist's Network.
In my personal time I enjoy spending time with my family, trying new restaurants with my girlfriends, watching college football, and traveling.
